| A sea urchin shell blends in with rock lichen -- plus a wild rose petal. As the river and tidal waters mix, the plant/animal community is an interesting blend of fresh water and ocean. Being in a canoe lets you see it up close -- this is the first time I have seen sea anemones on the Maine coast. |
