| First Church's youth group canoed Maine's tidal rivers, operating out of AMC's campsite on Beal Island (near Bath, ME) in August 1986. Because the ocean water is warmest around August, this is a great long-weekend adventure in late summer. We did this trip several times in the 80's and 90's. A canoe rests above high-tide level on the beach at Beal. The campsite is to the left, under the trees; the fireplace and kitchen are behind the photographer, on the beach. |
