We checked out Taft Lodge near the summit of Mansfield -- a huge log cabin shelter for Long Trail hikers.

Tom looks out over the valley from the Lodge's front porch.

On the trail we heard snap-crash-boom and saw a major tree fall nearby. I guess trees do fall in the wilderness (and in this case sure made a noise!).
