the event referees (the Zebras) take an after-launch break at the Albuquergue Balloon Festival in New Mexico

After the mass ascension the "zebras" -- the referees who coordinate it all -- take a break. This once-a-year event ran as smooth as silk despite the immense complexity of the simultaneous launches. Dave and I traveled 2000 miles to see a daytime event that was all over by 9 am -- and it was worth it!
