The AMC Guide gets points for declaring this hike "a more difficult route than you might infer" (lots of ups and downs).

Michelle makes it look easy on the level; it was another matter on the steep sections.

We broke trail 4.6 miles on the way in (whew!), taking 8.5 hours for the 9.2-mile round trip.
