| ...sure enough, here is (perhaps) a Northern Dusky Salamander (Desmognathus fuscus). According to NH Fish and Game, this species is distinguished by its small size, dark color and side salt-and-pepper flecks; but since it lacks the characteristic ridged tail, this guy may be a hybrid. |
