The view south is of South Whaleback (center) and Potash Knob (right), with the southern White Mountains behind. The short whack to South Whaleback was easy, going east from the col through mostly open woods. However, the Old Osseo Trail was surprisingly difficult, with blowdowns, steep sections, and challenging route finding.
