Indian Poke (Veratrum viride) in May on the trail to Vose Spur in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

On the way out there is just enough drizzle to adorn a pair of Indian Poke (Veratrum viride) with water droplets. These plants may be poisonous to eat, but they sure pretty up boggy trail sections! The inconspicuous green flowers appear in July.
