American Mountain Ash flower

I hiked North Uncanoonuc on a rainy day in June 2006. A low-growing American Mountain Ash (Sorbus americana) unfurls zillions of white flowers in a flat-topped cluster above its characteristic red-stemed pinnately-compound leaves. (Come fall, the flowers will mature into a cluster of bright-red berries.)
