Fred dons his emergency headnet. Yup, it's black-fly season now (early May) in southern New Hampshire! Even the photographer is in trouble, with a couple of the nasty little guys headed his way (out-of-focus flies showing against the blue sky). This is a weird mowed field here in the middle of the forest reserve, for who knows what reason.
