Carl's Wednesday hikers did Mount Tremont in December 2006.

Across from the trailhead the Saco River runs peacefully toward a hazy horizon and early-morning mist.

Each of those river-bed rocks is coated with a thin layer of mist-condensed ice -- it is, after all, December!
