Four of us went on an AMC hike up Mt. Tremont (3384-ft; White Mountains, NH) in April 2001. The snow pack covered most of the trail blazes, making it impossible to stay on the trail; so we wound up bushwhacking up to the peak. Good thing we had snowshoes!

A yellow blaze is just barely visible on this white birch at snow line.
