John hikes up the field section of trail.
It is beautiful terrain, but also scarily full of ticks.
Grabbing a ride on my pants was a dog tick (big and black),
a deer tick (smaller and brown) and a baby tick (miniscule) --
wow, I'd never seen all three of these at once!
By the end of the hike John and I had each thrown off more
than a dozen ticks, and yet I still found a couple more
during the drive home and even two more inside my house. Yuck.
