Anne, David R. and Fred did a bushwhack to Scaur Peak (3605-ft; White Mountains, NH) in May 2005.

The woods are gorgeous this time of year, filled with light before the deciduous trees leaf out.

And, yes, the black flies are out; but wind kept them mostly at bay.
