Tamarack (Larix laricina)

...so here's a tree photo. Tamarack (Larix laricina) is also called American Larch. Even though it has needles for leaves and looks like an evergreen, it is deciduous (it looses all its needles every Fall). This tree prefers well-drained soil, but it can exist better than other trees in swamps and is often dominant here.
