Bush-Honeysuckle (Diervilla lonicera) in June at Pitcher Mountain in New Hampshire

Beside the trail is Bush-Honeysuckle (Diervilla lonicera) in bloom. Although this shrub looks like (and is named after) Honeysuckle, it is actually an entirely different species. Identification clues are: three-foot-tall shrub, opposite toothed leaves, and yellow-to-red Honeysuckle-like flowers. See also: Livingston Park
