| Volunteering in my flower garden is Indain Tobacco (Lobelia inflata). This cute little wildflower is only 1/4-inch across. The scientific name "inflata" refers to the calyx which inflates as the fruit grows. The common name refers to its prior use -- discontinued because poisonous. |
