Black Medick (Medicago lupulina)

Growing as a weed in a sidewalk crack is a tiny flower (1/8-inch across): Black Medick (Medicago lupulina). Identification is aided by the clover-like tri-foliate leaves, each short-spine tipped, and with the terminal leaflet stalked. (Note: this specimen is dry and drooping, normally the flower is erect.)
