Common Duckweed (<i>Lemna minor</i>) and Giant Duckweed (<i>Spiroldela polyrhiza</i>) in September beside Nashua River Rail Trail in northeastern Massachusetts

A red clover blossom floats on the duckweed-covered water surface. There are two species of duckweed intermixed here: Common Duckweed (Lemna minor) and Giant Duckweed (Spiroldela polyrhiza).
