female Red Maple (Acer rubrum) flower in April at Musquash Conservation Area in Londonderry NH

At trailside is a Red Maple (Acer rubrum) female flower. The oodles of male pollen floating in the air mess up my nose, but a few will find their way here and mate with this flower to create (in a few weeks) some polynoses (samaras).
