We followed an old logging road and unofficial trail, both maintained by Bruce and Mary Sloat who own the mountain. Bruce says the round-trip hiking distance is 7.6 miles.

This American Toad posed on the picnic table in front of the Sloat's hut, near the summit of Mt. Mary. There is a fine directional view from here; but we couldn't see it today through the cloud cover.
