I did a solo hike up Magalloway Mtn. (3383-ft; northern NH) in June 2003 via the Coot Trail. It's a 200-mile, 4-hour drive from southern NH to the trailhead; but an easy 30-minute hike to the top. So I added in a hike up Table Rock (also way north) on the way home. I had never driven this far north in NH before and it was an interesting ride.
Magalloway is the highest peak in the region, visible across pretty First Connecticut Lake.
