upper section of the Edward MacDowell Lake Flood Control Area at Peterborough in southwestern New Hampshire

The water level is low today, so the upper section of the Lake is marshy. In the foreground is a small beaver dam as nature's critters do their own flood control. And, yes, when you hike in the rain you get wet-looking photos (you can even see rain drops in the water).
