To reach Mt. Kelsey's summit we drove about a mile on the Clear Stream lumber road, continued another two miles on foot, then entered the woods and whacked about a mile due south. The woods were mostly open except on the flat top, where blowdowns and thick conifers made finding the canister a prolonged hunt.
