Near the top of the Jackson Branch we are greeted by a Gray Jay welcoming committee. In the mid-winter dearth of mountain animals it is exciting to have a bird in hand; thanks to Tonia who braved the near-zero temperature to do this. And, yes, we tipped them with granola.
