Gray Jay

Here's a close-up of one of the three Gray Jays that poses politely for Dick. These birds are amazing aerial acrobats. When I put out my hand a few feet downwind from the cairn where one was perched, it takes off into the wind and then flies backwards to land on my hand! This Gray Jay is slimmed down in warm September; see another that is plumped up in cold February.
