a ray from the setting sun temporarily illuminates a low-flying cloud as seen from Mount Israel in the White Mountains of New Hampshire

I did a solo sunset hike up Mount Israel (2630-ft; White Mountains, NH) in September 2002. A powerful cold front combines with tropical storm Gustaf to generate exceptional wind and fast-changing weather. Squam Lake looks like a blender, new down-falls block the trail, and 50-mph gusts make summit photography a challenge. A ray from the setting sun temporarily illuminates a low-flying cloud.
