Sea Lavender (Limonium nashii)

Growing just below the high-tide line is Sea Lavender (Limonium nashii), giving the rocks a pleasing purple blush. Identification includes large basal leaves that are thick at the tip and tapering toward the stem. A similar species, Linomium carolinianum, grows mostly south of New England, so this probably isn't it.
