The Laugher caterpillar (Charadra deridens)

...and The Laugher (Charadra deridens). The common and scientific names are from the moth's wing pattern which resembles a laughing face ("deridere" in Latin means to deride, mock or laugh at). Identification of the caterpillar is easy, based on the black head with three yellow spots, pale green body, and the abundant long, white, wispy hairs.
