bushwhacking through snow up West Huntington Mountain in New Hampshire

Chuck H. and Fred hiked West Huntington in April 2007. We walk in the Hancock Notch Trail, bushwhack up a valley, then follow the ridge to the summit. The going is slow over deep snow (2-3 ft), steep up, thick woods, and postholing on the way down. It takes us 6.5 hours to complete the 2.5-mile round-trip hike.
