Hemlock Hospice modern art at Harvard Research Forest in north central Massachusetts

Along the trail Fred looks quizzically at one of the Hemlock Hospice modern-art exhibits (on display through November 2018). The display is intended to increase awareness of the Hemlock Woody Adelgid (HWA) -- introduced to the U.S. from Japan in 1951 -- that is slowly killing all the American Hemlock trees.
