| Also here is lots of Spreading Dogbane (Apocynum androsaemifolium). This species interbreeds with Indian Hemp (Apocynum cannabinum) to form Intermediate Dogbane (Apocynum medium); but this specimen looks pretty close to pure Spreading Dogbane. Identification is by reddish stems, opposite leaves, and white (or pink) bell-shaped recurved flowers. See a: large flower photo. |
