| Along the pond edge is a male (staminate) flowering branch of Pussy Willow (probably Salix discolor). This is a notoriously difficult shrub to identify because of the many similar species and hybrids in our area. Those yellow tips are clumps of wind-dispersed pollen (ahchoo!). |
