| Honey Locust (Gleditsia triacanthos) has delicate foliage. Because the leaflets are tiny, this tree is often planted by sidewalks to ease fall cleanup. The scientific name "triacanthus" means "three-thorned"; but this and most cultivated specimens are the "thornless" variation -- hey, who wants trees with thorns in their yard! |
