American Lotus (Nelumbo lutea) growing in August at Great Meadows National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Massachusetts

The yellow flower dominating the pond surface is American Lotus (Nelumbo lutea). I get close enough for a photo by walking out onto the viewing platform on Lower Pond.
