| Carl, Fred, Lance and Ryzek visited Deer Island (Boston Harbor Islands, MA) in June 2015. We walk toward the ultra-modern wastewater treatment plant which has transformed Boston Harbor from filthy (in the 1980s) to now clean. Facilities include digesters (those huge eggs) to clean sewage, and a 9.5-mile under-water tunnel to disperse the almost-pure outflow. |
