| Dick and Fred bushwhacked to Cold Hollow Mountain (3330-ft; way-north Vermont) in October 2010, where we encounter a foot of unexpected snow at altitude. In honor of Halloween an orange-striped snake sneaks up with us (coiled atop the summit canisters). Dick also sports bright color for hunting season -- we pass moose and bear tracks in the new snow. |
