Tom and Fred climbed North Brother (4151-ft; Baxter State Park, ME) in September 2002. Overnight we stayed at Big Moose, a great private campground just outside Baxter State Park's south entrance.
Tom took Fred's photo on the peak. Because the mountain range rises abruptly, the landscape to the north appears to be w-a-a-a-y down there! Our hiking gear included gloves (for scrambling over rough rocks) and jacket (to fend off cold, blustery wind).
