I hiked Belknap Mtn. for sunset via the Red Trail in August 2004. I chanced a stormy evening (looking for dramatic skies), but high humidity generated only this muted color. The access road is gated at 6pm, so the 2-mile round-trip hike stretched to 5 miles.
