After flying into Johnson Pond, we canoed a couple miles across Allagash Lake to reach the trailhead. This is a pretty remote mountain!

You can just barely see the tower up on the left of Allagash Mountain (about 800 feet above water level).

Cloudy weather was the precursor of a two-day "Winter Weather Advisory" in northern Maine that was going to mess up our canoe trip!
