At trailside is Flowering Shadbush (Amelanchier arborea),
also known as Downy Serviceberry.
There is some species uncertainty here. The Shrub Identification Book by George Symonds says: "This is a large and confusing genus; there is considerable difference of opinion concerning the various species." |
