| For me, the unexpected highlight of my visit to Berlin is finding this Neue Wache memorial to victims of war and tyranny. The austerely dramatic setting of the Mother with her dead son statue makes you pause, and the memorial statement (posted in multiple languages) is the most insightful I have ever read. |
