1. Instant Gratification
Knowing digital is fast and actually experiencing it are two different things.
When I bought my first digital camera, speed blew me away!
I used to wait three days for slides and prints.
A print in three minutes is nice.
2. Print Quality
My very first digital print was eye-popping.
Right out of the camera I got color saturation, sharpening
and other visual enhancements I could only get previously by going
to a custom photo lab.
No scratches, dust or unwanted cropping either.
3. Image Optimization
As a kid I played in my dad's black-and-white darkroom.
When I switched to color, I missed that creativity.
With digital and Photoshop that's all back and on steroids!
4. Anti-shake Shooting
It used to be that if you paid big bucks you could have
a lens for your SLR that reduced camera shake.
With digital, the anti-shake can be applied inexpensively to the sensor inside
the camera.
For many types of photography you can kiss that awkward tripod goodbye.
