The Fall 2013 issue of Michigan Engineer features a frog as a source for protecting humans from bad microbes, with this comment:
"Microbe-killing peptides, small protein-like molecules, are included in the defenses of nearly all animal species.
Frogs stand out for producing huge varieties of them, from general bactericides to species-specific assassins."
