backlit hoodoo formation seems almost on fire at Bryce Canyon National Park in Utah in September 2001

Bryce Canyon National Park (Utah) encompasses a younger geological stratum than Zion (which, in turn, is yonger than the Grand Canyon -- between the three parks there is an amazing display of geologic history!). Erosion has produced these weird structures, called hoodoos. In the evening sun, this backlit hoodoo formation seems almost on fire.
